“A glorious and complex nose of tobacco,blackberries and hints of stones and flowers. Hints of bitter chocolate.Full-bodied, very tight and compacted. Linear backbone gives this form andtension. It has the same character on the palate as well as cayenne and otherspice. Loved the 2014 but this shows more fine-grained tannins. So balanced andharmonious. A blend of 69% cabernet sauvignon, 24% carmenere, 5% cabernet francand 2% petit verdot. Needs four or five years in bottle but a joy to taste now.”

The Almaviva2015 blends 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carménère, 5% Cabernet Franc and2% Petit Verdot for a truly captivating wine that displays a brilliant opaquered colour in the glass. The wine was matured in new French oak barrels for 18months, lending perfectly integrated touches of oak to the flavour profile. Onthe nose, this Chilean red wine is powerful and complex, seamlessly blendingripe fruit and subtle floral aromas, which are followed by caramel, liquoriceand graphite notes. On the palate, this wine is very well-balanced. The juicyattack, rich in ripe fruit (raspberry, blackcurrant and black cherry) is framedby a beautiful structure formed by polished and fine tannins. On the finish,this wine is silky with mineral touches.
