Description

The white grape plots, located on the cool terroirs of the commune of Saint Sauveur, experienced contrasting weather conditions during the 2017 vintage, alternating between rain and drought and heat and coolness. After a particularly dry winter, the relatively early budburst heralded the start of the growing season. Prosperous growth was halted at the end of April by frost, which particularly affected two Sauvignon Blanc plots (out of a total of nine plots).


After two ripeness checks on August 22nd and 30th, the harvest began on September 5th with a traditional initial sorting of Muscadelle. Then, it was quickly time to harvest the Sauvignon Blanc, the predominant grape variety in the white vineyard, and finally the Sémillon. The white grape harvest lasted four days and was completed before the onset of the rainy period that marked mid-September. The exemplary health allows for the Muscadelles and Sémillons to be picked at peak ripeness. The rich and aromatic berries retain a remarkable freshness, an unmistakable hallmark of the 2017 vintage.

Pale yellow in color with green highlights, the 2017 Blanc de Lynch-Bages has a particularly expressive nose. Its balance on the palate is maintained by excellent freshness. It is dynamic, with complex aromas of peach and white fruits with exotic notes.
