The 2018 Bernard Magrez Chateau La Tour Carnet is a rich and densely structured wine from the Haut Medoc region of France. This wine boasts a dark, intensely deep color and a powerful nose dominated by blackberry and blueberry, with a touch of licorice. On the palate, it is dense from the attack, smooth, fruity, and full-bodied, developing into a fleshy mouth-feel with firm yet silky tannins and a long, flavorsome finish. The vineyards surrounding the 12th-century castle contribute to the wine's smoky character and ripe black-plum fruits. This wine is aged in barrels for 16 months, with 30% of the barrels being new, and is best enjoyed after decanting for an hour. Pair it with grilled lamb chops, beef tenderloin, mature cheeses, or roasted duck for an exceptional dining experience.
