Zhou Botong Winery is Cathay Pacific’s first-class wine. Its Chinese name comes from a Chinese naming contest organized by airlines in 2006~ Of course, Zhou Botong is a winery with a long history. The current owner, Patrick Maroteaux, believes that St Julien red wine should be balanced and meticulous, and must have pure fruit flavor, so he insists on brewing the red wine with the most gentle extraction method.

After he took over, he invested a lot of money to improve wine-making facilities and reduce the yield of vines to maintain the richness of the fruit. Zhou Botong Winery is one of the first wineries in Bordeaux to use gravity treatment, avoiding the use of pumps and excessive new barrels.

The fruits of each plot will be independently brewed to ensure that each barrel of wine is produced under the most ideal conditions. Since 2000, the quality of Zhou Botong’s red wine has been getting better and better, but the price has remained moderate. It is a very affordable one of the Bordeaux-class wineries
