Penfolds RWT Shiraz was first introduced in 2000 as a counterpart to Penfolds Grange, focusing on showcasing the terroir of the Barossa Valley. The name RWT stands for "Red Winemaking Trial," highlighting its experimental origins. Unlike Grange, which uses American oak barrels, RWT is aged entirely in French oak, imparting a refined elegance and silky texture. The 2018 vintage reflects the warm growing season in the Barossa Valley, producing a rich, balanced Shiraz with aging potential.
